Anupam Datta

Anupam Datta is Co-Founder, President, and Chief Scientist of Truera. He is also Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and (by courtesy) Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. His research focuses on enabling real-world complex systems to be accountable for their behaviour, especially as they pertain to privacy, fairness, and security. His work has helped create foundations and
tools for accountable data-driven systems. 

Datta has also made significant contributions to rigorously accounting for security of cryptographic protocols. Specifically, his work led to new principles for securely composing cryptographic protocols and their application to several protocol standards, most notably to the IEEE 802.11i standard for wireless authentication and to attestation protocols for trusted computing.

Annemieke De Groot

Annemieke's mission is to drive innovation within AXA, focusing on emerging tech & data. With experience in different industries and countries across Asia and Europe, Annamieke believes in empowering people through knowledge and skills. Tech itself does not drive transformation but the people who understand its capabilities do. In her current role as Business Partner for Asia, Annemieke works with the AXA entities across the region to improve customer service, claim handling, underwriting and other insurance processes through data analytics, machine learning, NLP, computer vision and other data-centric innovation. 

​Benjamin Lee

Benjamin Lee is the Projects Manager at the Singapore centre of the Bank for International Settlements Innovation Hub (BISIH). The Innovation Hub aims to identify, and develop in-depth insights into, critical trends in technology affecting central banking; develop public goods in the technology space geared towards improving the functioning of the global financial system; and serve as a focal point for a network of central bank experts on innovation. 

 

Prior to this appointment, Benjamin was with the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s International Finance Division and led the authority’s engagements and work with international and multilateral institutions. He also served as Singapore’s representative to the World Bank Group’s Executive Board and was based in Washington DC before that.

 

​Evangeline Leong

With over 10 years of experience in embracing digital marketing, Evangeline is the Founder & CEO of Kobe Global Technologies Pte Ltd. Envisioning a future where authentic storytelling is the key to effective marketing and advertising campaigns, Evangeline and her co-founder conceptualise and build an AI technology which supports Kobe's end to end influencer marketing solutions. The AI technology is currently patented in Singapore and Thailand, and pending patent in 6 other countries across SEA.  

Han Yu

Dr. Han Yu is a Nanyang Assistant Professor (NAP) in the School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Between 2015 and 2018, he held the prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Post-Doctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) at the Joint NTU-UBC Research Centre of Excellence in Active Living for the Elderly (LILY). Before joining NTU, he worked as an Embedded Software Engineer at Hewlett-Packard (HP) Pte Ltd, Singapore. He obtained his PhD from the School of Computer Science and Engineering, NTU in 2014. His research focuses on online convex optimisation, ethical AI, federated machine learning and their applications in complex collaborative systems such as crowdsourcing. He has published over 150 research papers in book chapters, leading international conferences and journals, and received multiple research awards. He co-authored the book "Federated Learning" - the first monograph on the topic of federated learning.

Jason Tu

Jason Tu is the Co-Founder and CEO of MioTech, an artificial intelligence platform that empowers Sustainability and Green Finance. Jason graduated from Stanford University and his career spans across finance industry as well as tech start-ups around the globe. He kicked off his career at Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong, from front to middle and back office. He has since then worked at a number of start-ups bringing world-class FinTech solutions to Asia, such as WeLab and Robinhood’s China expansion. His start-up, MioTech was founded in 2016 and has achieved great milestones with the backing of ZhenFund, leading VC in China, Horizons Ventures, the investment arm of Hong Kong tycoon Li Ka-Shing, and Moody’s.

John Hull

John Hull is the Maple Financial Professor of Derivatives and Risk Management at the Joseph L. Rotman
School of Management, University of Toronto. He is an internationally recognised authority on derivatives and risk management and has many publications in this area. His areas of research have included the impact of stochastic volatility on the pricing and
hedging of options, the valuation of interest rate derivatives and credit derivatives, the calculation of
value at risk, the evaluation of model risk, the regulation of financial institutions, and (recently) machine
learning. He was, with Alan White, one of the winners of the Nikko-LOR research competition for his
work on the Hull-White interest rate model, which is widely used by practitioners. 

Shou Dong

Dong is Co-founder & CEO of ADVANCE.AI. Dong was previously Partner and Vice President of Engineering at Wecash, one of the leading fintech startups in China. Before Wecash, Dong worked as a senior engineer at Amazon Web Services and IBM. He holds master's degrees in Computer Science from both Tsinghua University and Penn State University.

Marcus Lim

Marcus Lim is the Head of Flexible Workspace & Community Experience at CapitaLand Singapore Workspace.  He and his team of community experience curators set out to develop the signature Workspace experience for the portfolio of business space environment, from Bridge+, CapitaLand’s flexible workplace and community platform, to commercial offices, business parks and industrial spaces. 

 

Bridge+ serves as a leading example of how business space can be transformed into a village square where knowledge is shared between people from diverse background and industries. Marcus holds a Master degree in Business Analytics  and has a keen interest in AI and blockchain.

Fanglin is Head of Artificial Intelligence of ADVANCE.AI. He was previously Associate Director of Video Analytics and Machine Learning at NCS Group and Chief Technology Officer at KAI Square. A Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore, he holds a PhD degree in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent System from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a master's degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology.

Pauline Sim

Pauline Sim is the Senior Vice President of Group Channels and Digitalization at UOB and also Head of The FinLab


In 2015, she was part of the team that set up The FinLab, the innovation accelerator of United Overseas Bank Ltd (UOB), to accelerate the best and brightest FinTech start-ups from all over the world looking to land in Singapore and capture the ASEAN market.


In 2018, The FinLab launched Singapore’s first acceleration programme for SMEs. The programme helps SMEs to access and prioritize areas of digitalization, get matched with curated tech solution providers and get support on implementation of the pilot projects with the selected tech solutions
 

She was elected into the executive committee of Singapore FinTech Association (SFA), the association for the FinTech community in Singapore, during which she served as the Lead for Women in FinTech subcommittee between 2017 to 2019. 

Yi Ming Ng​

Yi Ming leads Tribe, a Singapore Government supported deep technology innovation and education platform. 

Yi Ming also serves as an Entrepreneur in Residence at INSEAD, supporting promising MBA students with their entrepreneurship pursuits. He is also a member of the Milken Institute’s Young Leaders Circle.

Yi Ming was recently selected as a Forbes 30 Under 30 Honoree in 2020. During his military term, he was also awarded the Singapore Armed Forces Outstanding National Serviceman Fulltime(NSF) of the Year.

Yi Ming graduated with First Class Honours from Imperial College London and has attended Harvard University and Peking University.

Yvonne Huang

Yvonne Huang is an expert in Big Data Analytics and Modelling. She is the Founder & CEO of Bitseep, trying to help crypto industry follow a more positive path other than becoming a tool for criminals. Applying advanced analytics and modelling, the algorithm she and her team built has prevented several major cybercrime successfully. Prior to Bitseep, Yvonne was the Big Data Project Executive of TRS, one of the listed big data analytics company in China 

Zissis Poulos

Dr. Zissis Poulos is a postdoctoral fellow at the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management and a researcher at the Rotman Financial Innovation Hub (FinHub), University of Toronto. He received a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2018. His research interests include applied machine learning in derivative pricing and risk management, deep learning acceleration, and distributed ledger technologies. He is a member of IEEE and ACM

Fernando Lucini

Based in London, Fernando is a passionate and experienced senior leader with extensive experience in Artificial Intelligence software and business solutions. Having spent 20+ years in the enterprise software industry creating technologies to automate and understand Text, Speech and Video data. Integrating these technologies into business solutions for Fortune 100 companies including; Financial Services, High Tech, Pharma, and many others including leading Government, Defence, Regulators and other public sectors entities. He is Global Lead for Data Science and Machine Learning Engineering for Accenture Applied Intelligence.

Veravej (Guy) Ornthanalai

Guy is a market entry, intellectual property (IP) and innovation strategist, registered Thai patent agent, and a business development consultant for bridging Thailand and the International Markets. He also is an advisor to the Ministry of Commerce and the Federation of Thai Industries.

 

Guy holds a dual Master of Business Administration & Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and Tokyo Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from University of Victoria. He has also completed the Advanced IP management certification from the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore.

 

His key practice areas are in Innovation & IP Portfolio Development & Management, IP Prosecution & Litigation, Innovation Analytics & Visualization, IP Valuation, Market Entry Strategy Formulation and Execution, Technology Transfer Agency and Innovation Whitespace Analysis.

Joe Colombano

Joe is a senior international development executive with over 20 years of experience in the multilateral system and a record of policymaking and thought leadership. As Economic Adviser to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, he led the work of the Executive Office on the preparations of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He was the former Director of the Office of the Special Advisor on Sustainable Development and Climate Change in the Executive Office of the Secretary-General and Deputy Director of the Sustainable Development Unit under Secretary-General António Guterres. He has worked at the World Bank in Washington DC, and later in London, at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). He received his graduate degrees from Harvard Kennedy School in the US and the University of Warwick in the UK, and his Laurea in Economics from the University of Turin in Italy. He lives in Hong Kong with his Danish wife, three daughters and Kenya, the family’s Golden Retriever. 

Winston Chan

Listed in “IAM Strategy 300: The World’s Leading IP Strategists” in 2018 & 2019, Winston is actively involved in innovation and IP management, technology transfer, strategic planning, franchising and branding projects across countries for over 15 years.

 

Before joining FT Consulting, Winston was asset manager with one of Asia’s largest real estate management companies. He had also previously held a management position at the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS), a Statutory Board under the Ministry of Law.

Winston lectures part time at the Singapore Management University and the Singapore University of Social Sciences in the areas of strategic internationalisation, as well as IP and innovation management.

 

He was the first in Singapore’s IP sector to receive the Skillsfuture Fellowships award in 2019. Presented by the President of the Republic of Singapore, the Award honours individuals as masters of skills and mentors of future talent. He is also appointed board member of IPOS International – IPOS’ expertise and enterprise engagement subsidiary.

Du Jun

Mr. Du Jun is one of the co-founders of Huobi, a professional investor in the blockchain industry and a well-known digital asset investor and manager. He has worked for Tencent, Comsenz and other well-known Internet companies, before co-founding the Huobi Group with Li Lin (Leon Li). He used to work as the CMO in Huobi since 2013 and helped Huobi rapidly grow into the world's largest digital currency exchange with his extraordinary ability in marketing and brand building. Following that, he founded The Time Finance, a blockchain focused media company, and then co-founded Node Capital, a venture capital company focusing on blockchain industry. He has professional industry knowledge, rich entrepreneurial experience and industry resources, and specialises in market operation, capital operation and business incubation.  

Noah Buxton, Esq 

With over 10 years of audit, legal, IT and regulatory compliance experience Noah leads the Blockchain & Digital Assets practice at Armanino, a top 25 public accounting firm. He is an impactful advisor on financial assurance, IT, and security reporting for Virtual Currency Exchanges, Token Issuers, broker-dealers, and blockchain and cryptocurrency startups. In 2018, Noah was a part of establishing Armanino's industry-focused practice and serves as Director of Product for Armanino's TrustExplorer*. Noah is a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the California Bar Association and International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), as well as the Chamber of Digital Commerce (CODC). Noah is a contributing writer and member of the AICPA Blockchain for SOC Working Group, and leads the Digital Chamber’s Proof of Reserves working group.

Ken Huang

Mr. Ken Huang is technical adviser of KnowSec. He is a well known AI and Cyber and Blockchain Expert , passionate in cyber security and a member of certified security professional by ISC2, book author with a proven track record managing large scale cyber security projects in the IT Consulting industry for banks and federal government agencies.  Mr. Huang is Chair of Blockchain Security working group for Cloud Security Alliance Great China Region, and Member of Blockchain Expert Commit for China Electric Institute. He was a judge for AI and Blockchain startup contest organised by Google, Softbank and Stanford in 2018. As part of W3C Credentials Community Group Member, He provided his comments for NIST 800-63 documents on Identity Management. He was an invited speaker to numerous local and global conferences in Blockchain, AI and Security including Davos WEF, CoinDesk Consensus, IEEE, ACM, World bank, Stanford University, UC Berkley, Bank of China, and Huawei

Priya Ranjan Sharma

Priya Ranjan Sharma is a credit risk professional with 17 years of experience spanning across risk modelling, small business lending, policy setting and portfolio analytics. In his current capacity as Head of Group Portfolio Analytics and Reporting at OCBC Bank, he provides analytical insights to business and credits teams to help them manage portfolio quality as well as drive sustainable business growth. He is immensely proud of his team who over the last few years have built and deployed machine learning models to enhance risk management across consumer life cycle. His current area of focus is on curation and usage of granular transactional data in risk analytics and modelling. Priya holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the National University of Singapore.

Wee Yeat Chong

Wee Yeat is Head, Corporate Banking of Maybank Singapore.  Prior to this position, Wee Yeat had been running the regional project financing team in the Maybank Group, successfully closing several high profile project financing transactions in Singapore and regionally. Before joining Maybank Group, Wee Yeat was with Standard Chartered Bank as an executive director in her project financing team.  Wee Yeat has over 15 years of banking experience. 

Deepak Ramanathan

Deepak is Vice President, Global Customer Advisory and is currently based out of Singapore. In his current role, Deepak works with customers in helping them craft out their analytics strategies. He has worked with customers in Banking and Financial Services, Communications, Manufacturing, Retail and Public Sector. Deepak has been a keynote speaker at several SAS forums within the region and also participated in several CIO/CTO forums providing thought leadership around Analytics.

Irene Liu

Irene served in the finance & regulatory functions in banks prior to her consulting role in PwC where she supports multinational and regional banks with their technology-enabled regulatory compliances through data optimisation.

Catherine Lee

RegTech Director, PwC Southeast Asia Consulting Catherine has 15 years of experience managing large scale technology and regulatory programmes. She is passionate about leveraging technology such as AI/ML to improve the regulatory reporting process.

Grace Abuhamad

Grace Abuhamad manages trustworthiness research at Element AI. Previously, she served in the US government and at ICANN. She holds a Master’s from MIT, where she focused on algorithmic discrimination in consumer finance.

Marc Etienne Brunet

Marc-Etienne is a Canadian-based machine learning researcher and practitioner. He works with the Trustworthiness group at Element AI and is pursuing his PhD at the Vector Institute. He is the Applied Research Scientist of Element AI

Johnson Poh 

Johnson is currently Executive Director & Head of Enterprise Artificial Intelligence at UOB Group. He has been a practicing data scientist for the past decade, with experience spanning across finance, consulting and government sectors. His prior professional appointments include being Head Data Science/Practice Lead at DBS Bank, Chief Data Scientist, ASEAN Region at Booz Allen Hamilton and Principal Data Scientist at Ministry of Defence, Singapore. He also serves as an adjunct faculty at SMU School of Information Systems.

Gunjan X Bhat

Gunjan is passionate about delivering differentiated user experiences inspired by ethical use of data. Over the last 14 years at HSBC, Gunjan has developed and deployed numerous data inspired solutions to serve banking needs of customers across ASEAN, China, HK, Australia and Americas. He is studying consumer behavior for 20+ years and is still learning more every day.

Nick Lewins

Nick Lewins leads Microsoft Research for the financial services vertical. Prior to joining Microsoft, Nick was CIO for Data & Analytics and CTO at Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA).  CBA is the world’s 14th largest bank by market capitalization, and in 2018/2019 won global awards from Cloudera and from Pegasystems for achieving outstanding business impact with their software. Nick career spans 18 years as a banking CTO/chief architect, and 8 years in similar roles in the defense and intelligence sector.  Nick holds a PhD in Machine Learning and a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Western Australia.

Catherine Wu 

Founder of Data and AI Center of Competency team in GCG and AP. Catherine (Wu Yan) is leading team to accelerate IBM Cloud Pak for Data and Watson Portfolio deployment and build reference application in GCG and AP. Throughout industries, she help clients create changes that matter, by harness the power of artificial intelligence, machine learning, automation, and advanced analytics. She has demonstrated track record of leading organization change and driving transformation at global level. She influenced senior executives on a wide range of business decisions, including strategies and implementation tactics. She has received her bachelors in Computer Science from Tsinghua University, and a Masters of Science at National University of Singapore.

Vivek Pathak

Vivek Pathak is IFC’s Regional Director for East Asia and the Pacific, leading advisory and investment operations across 18 countries, which in fiscal year 2020 reached US$4.2 billion in long-term investments, including funds mobilized from other investors. He has extensive emerging markets experience in principal investments, restructuring and risk management. 
Mr. Pathak was Director for Investment and Credit Risk, responsible for global coverage of credit risk, investment risk, integrity risk, pricing and credit/equity training. Prior to that he oversaw IFC’s portfolio in the Middle East and North Africa and led business development in frontier markets like Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran. 
Before IFC, Mr. Pathak worked at Bank of America and ABN AMRO Bank in new business and risk management. 

Deyi Wu

Deyi is responsible for strategic planning and product commercialisation in WeBank's AI department for financial products and sustainable investment. Prior to that, Deyi worked for BlackRock on promoting and implementing detailed sales strategies for institutional client relationship development in China. Within BlackRock, Deyi also worked at the passive investment team as a product specialist. Deyi obtained both degrees of Economics and Mathematics and Business Finance from the States University of New York at Buffalo, and she is matriculating to the Executive MBA program by INSEAD and Tsinghua.

Catherina Xu 

Cat is a Product Manager working on the Responsible ML Infrastructure team in Google Research, which builds
 tools to scale Responsible AI practices in products across Google and in open source.

Julia Wasserman

Julia is a Program Manager leading the Responsible AI Strategy in Google Cloud. Her team focuses on putting
 Google’s AI Principles into practice through the Cloud AI and Industry Solutions product portfolio.

 

Parker Barnes

Parker is a Product Manager working on Explainable AI and Responsible AI in Google Cloud. He previously worked
 in Google Research on ML fairness and on the team that developed Google’s AI Principles.

Max Song 

Max Song is data scientist, investor and venture builder in Hong Kong with a focus on exploring emerging technology in finance, machine learning and blockchain, especially on climate change and sustainable impact. Max Song is a Venture Partner at a Pacific Century Group, where he looked at investments in emerging technology in AI, blockchain and TMT, and founded Carbonbase, a FinTech company to develop tools for visualising the carbon emission trail to end consumers using blockchain tracking and data science. 
 

Peiru Teo

Peiru is the CEO of KeyReply, which utilises AI in natural language processing to build smart virtual agents to help healthcare and insurance companies in customer engagement and knowledge management. KeyReply works with Parkway Hospitals, National Healthcare Group, Ministry of Health Transformation Office (Singapore), KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and AIA.

 

Peiru started her career as a management associate with Citi, and subsequently joined a private equity firm, managing investments over S$4 billion. 

 

As a seasoned entrepreneur, she has been featured in The Straits Times, Lianhe Zaobao, radio and media like Channel News Asia for entrepreneurship and business digital transformation. She is a valedictorian with a BEng from NTU.
